  - Story of Radhakishan Damani Most of you may have seen and visited this place called ‘DMart’. DMart is India’s largest retail hub chain with 246 supermarkets across the country. Do you know the owner of this supermarket chain?? Its none other than Mr. Radhakishan Damani often known as “Mr. White and White”.  Introduction: - RadhaKishan Damani is a trader, entrepreneur and one of the top-notch investors in the Indian Market. He is the second richest billionaire after RIL’s Mukesh Ambani with current net-worth of 2330 crores USD.  A major name with an independent nature, he has consistently kept himself far from the media spotlight and shows up on public occasions, not at all like others do. A modest personality, he generally inspires many to be a character whose action speaks louder than his words. History: - Like many of us, he was born in a middle-class family in Bikaner, Rajasthan in the year 1954. His father was a broker and he had an elder brother who use to help his father in t

Mental disorders Most people are unaware of.

Mental disorders Most people are unaware of.   A mental disorder also called as mental illness, is a behavioral or mental pattern that causes difficulty in coping with the ordinary demands of life.   They are diagnosed by a mental health professional or a psychologist or psychiatrist. Mental disorders are among the most common causes of disability and It’s resulting disease burden  is among the highest of all diseases.   A 2018 study shows that over 900 million people worldwide suffer from some form of mental health disorder. The most common being anxiety and depression.   Anxiety symptoms include inability to set aside worry and restlessness. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. Long term depression can have a huge negative impact on a person's life. Most of us have felt depression and anxiety sometime in our lives but

Neuralink Explained

Image
“Welcome to the Neuralink product demo. Really excited to show you what we got, and I think its gonna blow your mind.”, Elon Musk said and for good measure. The Neuralink project is a very meaningful step forward in the way we interact with the electronic devices around us. It is yet another step forward in reducing the effort and the complexity of interacting with devices and aims at humans being able to control electronic devices with their brains with a small chip implant that will sit inside our skull. How does Neuralink work? To understand how Neuralink works,  we must have a basic idea of how the human brain functions. The basic functioning of the brain and the neural system in our bodies works in the form of electro-chemical signals that are transmitted by the neurons. This creates an electric field, and this electric field can be measured to detect various brain activities. This is where the Neuralink implant comes into play and acts an all time reader and transmitter of the

A COMPETITOR FOR CIGS SOLAR CELL – CuInTe2 SOLAR CELLS!

Image
Solar cells have recently undergone improvement in order to increase their efficiency and lower their cost, but the primary problem is to do so while utilizing an environmentally benign material! Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) solar cells have been developed by researchers. This cell absorbs sunlight and converts it to energy using CIGS as a semiconductor material. Although CIGS is a leading candidate material for solar cell applications which is in the early stages of commercialization, our researchers have developed a new material for solar cells called CuInTe 2  (CIT). CuInTe 2  possesses all the qualities that make it an excellent absorber in solar cells and a competitor to CIGS. What has been actually done? CIT thin films were electrodeposited from CuSO 4 , In 2 (SO 4 ) 3 , and TeO 2 ,  respectively.  Citric acid was used as a complexing agent to make an aqueous solution of CITn double-distilled water.  Using concentrated H 2 SO 4 , the pH of the solution was kept at around

Lightning: The size of a coin, hotter than the Sun and a catalyst to nightmares.

Image
We've all either experienced or know someone that has had nightmares about lightning. However, these streaks of glow coming out of the sky aren't just scary, they carry with them many exciting phenomena that will surely strike you as they've struck me (pun intended). Let's dive into this blog and get to understand a little more about lightning, a little more than just the horrors it brings.       To understand lightning, it's essential to consider the climate and the conditions it occurs in. Lightning is frequent and is mainly centered around areas with moist and generally unstable atmospheric conditions. Geographically, lightning is frequent and primarily observed in the Himalayas, central Africa, and South America. This climate is responsible for the formation of thunder clouds, also known as Cumulonimbus Clouds, characterized by their massive size, their ability to develop vertically, and most fascinatingly, their ability to separate p

The Chola Kingdom

Image
India has always been the land of great Empires, diverse cultures and different civilizations. The Mauryan, Gupta and the Mughal Empires have always been the most deeply studied civilizations but many other great ones have not seen as much limelight. The Cholas are one of them. Origin The tripartite struggle between the the kingdoms of Pala, Rashtrakuta and Pratihara for the capital city of Kanuj lead to regional instability. In a similar manner around the same time, the Pallavas, Pandyas and the Cholas also fought for the assertion of dominance in southern India. In this battle the Cholas emerged victorious. The Cholas came into existence in about 300-600 BCE along the Kaveri River Delta. From the beginning the Cholas were dependent on the sea for wealth. In their infancy they were merely a vassal kingdom in servitude of the Pallavas. The Pallavas due to prolonged conflicts with the Pandyas were left significantly weaker in the coming years. Taking advantage of this opportunity Ki

Self-Healing Concrete

Image
Introduction Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials on earth. But concrete has a flaw, its low tensile strength. It needs to be reinforced with the help of steel or iron rods to compensate for its low tensile strength. In turn, concrete protects the steel from corrosion. But when cracks form in concrete, the rods come in contact with the atmosphere, and their corrosion harms the structure's integrity.  Here comes the idea of self-healing concrete because if we fill the cracks formed in the concrete, then the next step of corrosion of rods will not occur. This self-healing will not lead to harm to the structure's integrity. First let’s see about concrete’s own self-healing properties Autogenous self-healing concrete Concrete in itself processes naturally specific autogenous healing properties. The healing activity in this method initiates because of the hydration of the clinker's minerals present in it. Here the unhydrated cement particles work a
